Icon2 Reverse Problem 1990 Accord Automatic Transmission

When I put the car into reverse all it does is make a grinding noise. The car will not move. On the other hand, the car rides and drives fine in D. Any clue on what may be the problem and the cost of repair? I am no mechanic and thought if it were the transmission, the car wouldn't be able to move at all given my past experiences. I am probably wrong, that's why I am asking and needing help. Thanks in advance for any feedback anyone can provide me.

Grinding with the AT?

Try to troubleshoot. It could be a failing shift solenoid.
