Requires Maintenance Light, 91 Accord
Hi Guys,
I don't own the manual for my car. What does the 'Requires Maintenance' light underneath the tach mean? What does it get its information from? When I got the car it was green, and had since gone yellow, and is now red? (I have put about 20,000k's on the car) All regular maintenance has been done.
Thanks All!
Dave

Dave:
The Maintaince required indicator is a mechanical counter attached to the odometer which counts off multiples of 7500 miles. IE:
7500
15000
22500
30000
37500 ect, ect ... ad infinitum
It can be reset.
It's intent is to (along with all the dealer flyers and maintaince mailers) shame you into taking the car back to the dealer for Scheduled Maintaince.

Re: Requires Maintenance Light, 91 Accord (P_Adams)
Thanks a lot!
I figured it was probably something like that. As the 'check engine' light never came on. So basically I can just ignore it then?
