replacing transmission on 96 accord rear engine mounting bolts not lining up
I'm replacing the automatic transmission on my 1996 honda accord 4cyl. The original transmission is an aoya and it is being replaced with an boya from a 97 accord. I have installed the transmission onto the engine with two of the upper and the two lower transmission housing bolts. I have not applied any final torque and the transmission jack is still under the transmission. My next step was going to be to install the rear engine mounting bolts , but the mount/bracket is not lining up with the bolt holes on the transmission. I'm afraid this is the result of me not following the very first note in the service manual transmission removal to install engine hoist brackets correctly. I don't have an engine hoist and from the video I saw on youtube it looked like this could be done without one.
How would I go about raising up the transmission and engine so that it lines up properly? can I jack up the engine from below?

Re: replacing transmission on 96 accord rear engine mounting bolts not lining up
well I just realized my downfall was removing the top bolt which mounted the engine in place. Now it seems to be a matter of maneuvering two jacks around under the transmission until I can get it to line up properly. any other tips on how to get this stuff lined up?
*edit* I realized that in order to get things lined up it would help if I re-attached the upper transmission bracket first. It would help pull the transmission back into it's original location so it would be easier to line up the holes. I still wasn't able to line up the holes in the rear bracket but they where very close. After messing around trying to get the transmission just right to align the holes I realized that all I really needed to do was to loosen the rear engine mount bracket the rest of the way so it has some slack so I could get all of the bolts lined up. after the top bolt that attached the bracket to the mount was loosened everything found it's way back home perfectly.
Well that was pretty frustrating and I'm glad it's all behind me.
