Default Replacing F23A4 with JDM F23A

I have a 2002 Honda Accord LX with a 4 cyl F23A4 ULEV engine with 111,000 miles and burning a quart of oil every 800 miles. I want to replace it with a
JDM F23A ENGINE.

I read on this site that I have to use the exhaust manifold and sensor from the F23A4 ULEV engine along with the ULEV ecu. Is there anything else I need to transfer to the JDM engine from my F23A4 ULEV engine. I was thinking of transfering the ULEV valve cover, if it fits. to the JDM F23A so that the engine will look the same.

Thanks for your help.

The JDM F23A will drop in no problem. Same goes with the valve cover.

Thanks. What about the Vtec Solenoid. I've seen on this site where some folks had problems with the JDM one and had to swap in their old one. Is that typical or was it probably due to a defective JDM solenoid.

who knows, but if it was me I would just drop it in as is and only replace damaged sensors on the f23a (using the spares on the f23a4).

the vtec solenoid should fit since it's still an F-series motor.

Depends if that JDM VTEC Solenoid has a VTEC Pressure Switch(VPS) or not. If it doesn't have one and your USDM one has it, you'll need to transfer your USDM VTEC Solenoid over to the JDM engine because your USDM ECU will be looking for that VPS. Thats the only reason why ppl swap them over is due to that switch. JDM engines don't usually have them.

Thanks. How can I tell if it has a VTEC pressure switch.

Also I went to the JDM engine place and he has four F23A engines. Anything I should look for in picking one. They all look about the same. One has a tag with compression test of 14, 15,15,15. Not sure if that is good or not. The others didn't have a compression test tag.
