2002 accord EX. stock radio, no navigation. I just reset the radio after a mechanic fiasco. mechanic could not unlock the car, so he slim jimmed the car open, setting off the alarm and he pulled the battery connection. I entered the radio code and it accepted it, but now the radio is just static all the time. this version car does not have an antenna. so how does the radio get a signal? is there something that might have become disconnected under the dash? the car was in the shop to replace the brake pedal switch....

Car has an antenna but I believe it is attached to the rear window but I have the static on the radio as well lol. I don't really care as I don't listen to the radio but it annoys me that the 2002 stock cd player doesn't play burned discs.

ur antenna is part of the rear upper part of the window. static can be a number of things, anything from a bad ground to spliced wire making contact on the body.
since u mentioned that the car was in the shop for replacing the brake pedal switch, bring it back to them and tell them they disconnected something because the radio is not working since they worked on it, OR u can pull the radio from the dash and check to see if the antenna was pulled from the radio. also make sure the harness to the radion is on there snug!!

I am guessing the antenna cable inadvertently was disconnected when the brake pedal switch was replaced. anyone know how that cable gets from the radio to the antenna in the back? it must travel thru the floor?

its a thick black wire with a silver metal connector that plugs into the radio, check at the radio end.

yeah that is what I figured. it didn't occur to me that working on that switch would be near the radio

wife says now the radio works but its still got static. I have done nothing other than stick my head under the dash and look for the coax to the radio (which I could not find). mysterious.

pull the radio out and have a look!!
trying to get a glimpse from under the dashboard isnt going to help.
