I have a 96 lx.
what do i have in the system ??? R-12 or R-134a

r134a is what you have. Buying r 12 is almost impossible these days and some states are making it illegal to use it.

Not.

It is R-134a. It is listed in your owner's manual, and should have a sticker under the hood.

I believe I read somewhere, any cars before 95. Not sure 95 and below.... But those cars uses R-134a. As others stated, it should say in your engine bay. or owners manual

yep, and now there going to move on to a different coolant. Its R744 Mercedes is currently working on. it suppose to be an environmentally friendly, well it more or less just co2, we'll see though.
