OEM are the best. Plus you dont need to change them already on a 2001 unless you have a shitload of miles on the accord.

I would change the plugs every 30K. They aren't platinum or anything. The wires, replace when they go bad...might be over 100K on those.

The plugs are NGK# ZFR5F-11, or 98079-5514G at the Honda dealer

plugs are NGK, and the wires are made by a Japanese company called "sumitomo." In all actuality, factory Honda ignition systems are very good. Coils, fancy plugs, and fancy wires are, IMO, a waste of money. You won't catch me selling anything other than OEM in this department.

The exception can be made for the boosted or nos car that needs a higher output coil and higher capacity wires. Anything else, OEM=bond.

If the engine doesn't require platinum plugs, why would you want to spend 10-20 bucks each for platinums when standard ones will cost 6-9 dollars fo a set?

Everyone has different opinions about ignitons. The Erick Racing low 10 second all motor civic coupe uses the stock ignition. Im sure the plugs arent OEM though. He built that car with the point of proving how good OEM parts car. OEM ignition, OEM intake manifold, OEM crank. Sure they have been worked, but arent replacement aftermarket pieces. I think your money could be better spent elsewhere.

I have a customer with over 400,000 miles on his stock wires. Only replace them if they need it and replace with OEM. As for the plugs, use only NGK or Nipondenso.

250k on an accord is nothing dude. Most of the 3g owners on here have that or are getting damn close. You know this of course.
