Power steering high pressure feed hose leak

Power steering high pressure feed hose leak
hi guys, i have a real small leak on what I think is called the "high pressure feed hose" on the pw steering pump. Its the large hose that goes behind the engine. I tries to seal it with oil resistant rtv but it didn't work. If I ever needed to replace it, how would I do that? And might there be a guide for such a task?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Ah haha. That's not to difficult. Just requires patience and the ability to be under the car as well as over it

You will need a flare wrench set...it's probably gonna be a 14mm for the engine side bolt. Don't try to use an open end wrench it'll probably strip the bolt. I haven't looked to see where it attaches..it's probably going to be a tight squeeze at the rack. But if you use a flare wrench you should have no major problems getting the bolt off...when you eventually make room to get to it.

It can be done from up top. Just kinda of a bitch reaching down through everything. And yes, yes a flare wrench. If you don't. Like holmesnmanny said, you are going to be a very pissed off person

Re: Power steering high pressure feed hose leak
Hey i am experiencing leaks of power steering also. i cant seem to find where from though. heres the story. i just recently purchased my car. the battery on it was dead so i have to purchase a new one. but anyways as i was going to put it in my garage i wouldn't start because obviously the battery was dead so i turned the key and put the car on neutral and pushed it into my garage. i noticed a huge puddle of fluid opened the hood and my power steering reservoir looked like it over flew. it was covered in fluid. after that i start up the car and there is a leak somewhere. i tried looking for it but cant find it. should i replace the feed hose and return hose.? or should i try leak seal first.?

Those stop leaks are a gimmick and may just buy a short amount of time. Just do it the right way so you can try to avoid damaging your pump.
