Overheating problem
Hi everyone. I have been working on my wife's 1997 Honda Accord 2.2LX from last week to solve an overheating problem. Here are the steps which I have taken and the results obtained:
- First changed the thermostat
Result: Did not stop the overheating
- Next, changed the thermo switch by the thermostat housing
Result: Did not stop the overheating. None of the fans came on when
temperature rose past normal.
- Found the radiator was leaking and change that as well
Result: Did not stop the overheating
- Found the water pump was leaking and change that as well
Result: Did not stop the overheating
Which fan should turn on when engine gets hot? Passenger side fan only
comes on when I turn on the AC blower.
No signs of water in oil, or blown gasket. Your experienced suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
