i never seen how its connected but dont use glue on any moving parts. i thought the nut goes on top of the wiper arm not sure what your refering to, please be more specific and what is the yr/mk/model?

it's the arm part 11 in schematic
under plastic part at bottom of windshield. It is the arm (p. 11) that connects to underside of wiper drive motor
