No spark on 3 of 4 cylinders- When cold outside
I've been having trouble with my 96 accord lx 4cyl, and you guys gave me some really good advice. I've yet to fix the problem, though I NOW KNOW that there is no spark on three of the 4 cylinders.
This is a temperature related issue.
To recap- when it's cold outside (overnight mainly) i have to crank and crank the engine. Once it gets so warm it would finally fire over and run on (assuming) one (possibly two) cylinders for a bit and then smooth out and run great.
No matter how long the car sits, IF IT"S WARM OUT, it will start right up. In fact I didn't even know the car had this issue until our night time temps dipped into the 50's. When it was 70 all night I'd go right out and start her up.
Now I've finally had the ability (a second person) to help me test spark and the only cylinder with spark is the one closest to the distributor.
Is this a sign of bad coil? bad distibutor? Or you think it originates at the computer? Is there anything I can do with an ohm meter to diagnose further?
Below is a list of what I've done to it in the past few weeks:
New Cap
New Rotor
New Wires
New Plugs
New ICM
Cleaned the IACV
Adjusted the FITV
New ect
She runs great when it's warm out and I'm actually glad I did 'most' of the above, but I'm ready for her to start in the am so I can go to work!

Re: No spark on 3 of 4 cylinders- When cold outside
Just to update... I realized that I only tested the plug end of the wire for spark... I am going to go back and test it right at the cap.
I did test the coil with an ohm meter but I don't have a guide so I was going off a guide for an older car (92 or 93?) so I'm not sure if that's right or not. I started another thread about that, but no luck.
