Hi guys! i bought a 94 Accord 2.2l m/t couple of weeks back. drove very good for 2 weeks then the starter gave in last week. i got that replaced with a new unit. then suddenly it developed a new issue. i would be driving in 2/3/4 gear and there would be a sudden lack of power. i would put the clutch in and then out again and it would get power back, or i just floored it, and it struggled back to full power.
anyway after a couple of days of that i was driving to the shops i got around 500m from my house when the check engine light came on and the power cut out. i came to a stop and tried to start the engine. first few times it didnt start, then it started and turned off within a second. so i waited 5 minutes and then started it again, no CEL light this time and the engine stayed on, so i drove very carefully back towards home, drove fine, and then when i pulled into the driveway the car did the same thing, cel came on and it turned off.

today i took it out for a drive to see if it was fine. started first time and was fine for about 10 mins, on my way back home same thing happened. cel came on and car turned off.

anyway fuel pump is operating normally because when i turn to ON MFR clicks and fuel pump goes for 2 secs then stops. i shorted the diagnostics and the CEL light stays on, no blinking. is it the ECU??

starts first time sometimes and goes for 10 mins worth of driving, then dies. then starts and struggles back home, and then starts fine the next day!

any help will be appreciated guys because this is my only car and i need to drive 30kms to work everyday!

Get the codes.......I'll guess a code 15 but you need to short the service connector and count the flashes.

Ok, any recent work done to the car?

Do you have a volt meter to check a few things when this happens?

Could be the ign switch (elect part) giving out....if it dies, leave the key alone, check for 12v on the BLK/YEL wire at the dist.

If you have 12v on the blk/yel, do you have spark to the plugs-have a spark tester or an old plug to insert into the wire, ground, and see.

Yes, could be the ECU but there are some other things it could be as well.

yes the starter motor was changed a week ago by a mechanic.

i pulled out the MFR and will resolder it. can the MFR problem be intermittient? like it starts fine first time and then leave the car running for 5 mins and it dies? then starts back up again after 5-6 tries?

ok so i resoldered the main relay. hooray it works!

Drove 30kms to work. so far so good. its going to be over 38 degrees Celsius today on the way back home. lets see how i go :/

anyway, this other problem still persists: car stops accelerating sometimes. revs dont go up or anything. so i put the clutch in and out and gets normal power again. i have to do this every 2-3 minutes. any ideas??

oh and there is a whining noise in 2nd gear ONLY. synchros?

I am having this same problem the car starts, after a few minutes the Check engine like flickers on and off then suddenly it comes on a stays on. After it turns on the car bogs down and continues running but lacks ALOT of power and staggers to climb rpms, then it will die randomly.

Where do you guys think I should start first?

Edit: Trying to pull the codes, but no flashes I have a solid CEL and the SRS light blinks (constant, dunno if thats a problem).
