Default NEED HELP WITH SRS LIGHT ON ACCORD 2001

I AM AN AUTHORIZED DEALER OF THE STATE OF ALABAMA AND I HAVE CURRENTLY AQUIRED A 2001 HONDA ACCORD. I BOUGHT IT AT AN AUCTION AND HAVE RESTORED IT BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE EXCEPT FOR THE SRS LIGHT. BOTH OF ITS FRONT AIRBAGS HAD EXPLODED. THE SIDE AIRBAGS ARE OKAY. SO I REPLACED THE AIRBAGS ALONG WITH THE AIRBAG MODULE AND SEAT BELTS SINCE THESE NEW MODELS HAVE A BELT LOCKUP WHEN THE BAGS EXPLODE. I ALSO REPLACED THE SIDE IMPACT SENSOR. I RESET THE AIRBAGS USING THE YELLOW PLUG ALL HONDAS HAVE. BUT IT STILL COMES ON. IS THERE A SENSOR I AM MISSING? OR DO THESE NEW MODELS HAVE SOME SORT OF CODE LIKE CHEVYS DO WITH THEIR TRANSMISSIONS?

I'm not sure if you said you are a honda dealer or not, I'm guessing not because of the accuared. But the "SRS" light has to be re-set by the honda scan tool at the dealer. There is a readyness test it must complete in order to completely cleaar the code.

I am an dismantler and re-builder of cars so i am a dealer, because i sell the restored cars. i am a dealer of rebuilt cars. i sell many different models. but i had never had a problem with the accords i purchased before. as for the honda dealer? don't trust them cause some of them make up excuses and try to sell you unnecessary parts. i once had a problem with a transmission. the dealer told me the transmission was bad and i had to replace it with a $2,000 new one. It turned out to be a sensor on the transmission. i can reset the bags myself with two wires hooked up to the yellow plug. is there any other reset feature?

Did you replace both impact sensors?
Occasionally, the system will not clear unless you replace both sensors. I've had that problem at the dealership before.
One other possibility is that the OPDS might need to be reinitialized. This can only be done with a Honda scan tool however. If you take it to the dealer, they should charge you no more than one hour labor to reinitialize the system.

If you think that you have put everything in place and back to normal to where the SRS light would not come on if reseted, you should definitely try this:

http://www.v6performance.net/f...=2656

It's a short step by step procedure on how to reset the SRS light. Just remember that if it comes on again after it turns off, it's on for a reason. Don't just reset it to get rid of it.
