Default My complete cb7 progress thread, from na to n2o, to turbo

I got the car in late october of 2006, and it needed some work, but i got a pretty decent deal on it. It had a giant wing, clear corner and bumper lights with blue bulbs, silver rims(which are ok, but black>*) the engine bay was a mess, as many have seen in another thread

it had 2 monitors and a dvd player in it, and the engine mods were intake and exhaust, look out!

it was a good platform to start with, it just needed love and a goal.
As I've said about 4000 times, i love the grumble of a v8, which stems from being around some awesome foxbodies growing up, so one of my first purchases was a delta 272 cam, which is still one of my favorite mods today, as i love the sound of it. In about a week to two week's time i also ended up purchasing the IM/TB off of an H23 which is the mid 90's prelude engine, it has dual runners and is a little bit bigger than the f22a1's, which is smaller and only has one set of runners on the IM, a dc header, front and rear strut tower bars, a chipped p06 tuned with crome, and an NOS wet kit, which was to be used with a 75 shot.

Exterior wise, i decided on going with a bordeaux red/black theme. I proceeded to do a few small things in the short term, which included painting the rims black Name: newcb7064.jpg

painting the lenses on the doors transparent candy apple red

I also ended up putting my ps2 in the glovebox and removing the dvd player so that elijah could play games when we went to my dads and such.
Back to the engine stuff, I went to my dads and my brother Cory helped me install everything.

I blackhoused the headlights, removed the fogs, removed my pin stripe, added a small lip, relocated my battery to the trunk, removed my gigan-tach, made a diy grill, did a dim to bright headlight conversion(bright bulbs where dim bulbs were), added a small black lip spoiler, installed an autometer oil psi gauge, installed an autometer voltmeter, and went to a single sub instead of two. mostly minor changes, but they still add up in the end.

one disappointing night at the track later and it was, yep, i need to go faster time again. Being in love with turbocharged cars after owning my merkur xr4ti as my first car, as well as talking to skinnye about his form turbo cb7, it was a pretty easy choice for me, and i found a kit someone had pieced together for the most part for $400(2g dsm manifold, 14b, 2 ic's,i sidemount and 1 evo 8 fmic, oil feed and return lines, various couplers, 2g dsm 450cc injectors, o2 housing, wastegate actuator, 2g dsm bov, and a few random pieces)

then bought my intercooler piping, new water pump, timing belt, and lots of other various maintenance parts and went to install it all again at my dads with the help of my brother.
Turbo was shot, so our plans were a no go.
Ended up getting a skunk 2 adjustable cam gear, a turbo basemap and aem brake pads i couldn't end up using.

time went on, little changed, and finally, it was turbo time again, as my brother helped me out and had a 14b that worked at dad's, also we removed the a/c while we were at it.

fabbed up the downpipe and the j pipe at skytower and proceeded back to lexington.
I then called RTC for a tune and went in to actually do the tune, when i found out that the clutch was shot and slipping like crazy. An ACT 6 puck clutch was ordered and installed, as was a walbro 255 lph fuel pump, axxis ultimate brake pads, a B&M fuel pressure gauge, installed a boost gauge, made a diy lip, and my back seat was deleted.

I then wrapped all my charge pipes, installed a turboxs rfl bov, and made a diy intake.

its not the most conventional route to go, as i know most people don't put much time and money into 14 year old honda accords, but ever since i owned my first one and started reading around, i knew they had potential, and thought i would try and unleash some of the potential i saw in this one. In the future i would like to address a few things, build the bottom end, get rid of my dents, and get fresh paint, but those are all still a little ways away, at least until i get back from obc and get a new dd, which will be the end of october at the earliest. Thanks for reading my thread, and know that i am by no means done with the cb7 yet, as i have dreams of much much more power and goodies after i start working within the next year. ROTC and the guard have been good to me while in school, and now its real world time.
VIDS!
Here is a video of it on the dyno and with some pics and idling

here is a 30-100mph pull

and here is me merging onto new circle rd under 3/4 throttle for a couple seconds

and finally, here is more idle grumble

i like the progression. Its nice to see people correct the damage a previous owner inflicts when they get all smacked up on blue wire loom.

the horse power numbers look really good too, think i might look deeper into boosting my f motor vs a swap.

word, the car was a bit of a mess when i first got it, but in the few months ive had it, i think i have corrected most of the previous wrongs of the previous owner. as for boosting, its a great option, as the f series is a great platform to start with, just do your research and you should be good to go. thanks again guys.

The steering looks like a handful. Remove the P/s belt when you're having fun and you'll be able to control the car better ,Trust me

thats what spinning tires in 2nd nets you, a steering nightmare. ive thought about it, and when it goes down and is no longer my dd, that will happen, but being that 99% of all my driving is done in city, im going to keep it for now.

thanks guys, it rarely sees that 12 psi, but when it does, it feels great.
also, today i removed my cruise control and related items. whenever i find a new dd everything i don't need will be coming out, like sound deadening material and p/s.

removed the cruise control and the chrome trim is now officially black. no more shiny exterior parts.
While both are just subtle differences, they are changes nonetheless.

Thanks everyone, this thread has not been updated in a very long time.

Car has since been fitted with a Haltech E8, Racepak IQ3 Datalogger dash, Evo 3 Big 16G, 550cc injectors, water methanol injection, cf hood/trunk/lip, new fmic, new front motor mount, turbo concepts bov, converted to external WG and uses a Tial 38mm wg, and lots of other stuff.

Running about 12 psi, retuned, and going to retune for 20 psi soon. Stock block still, was running 15 psi for a while.
