Just Bought A 1994 Accord, Dome Light Issue.
Welp I just need a quick answer to this,
The dome light works on ON mode, and OFF works too, but AUTO doesn't.
I learned that the ground switches on that switch, and AUTO just allows a door switch to supply ground to the bulb.
I also heard that the wiring for this should be behind the drivers side and passenger side a-pillar trim, not sure if this is correct.
Can't find a wiring diagram for this exact model. Its a 4-door LX no moon/sunroof.
Well as I was peeling back the a-pillar weatherstripping, glass shards started raining down on me, I can tell the windshield is an aftermarket install, the urethane beading isn't very straight.
But after I removed the trim, no wires at all, in the ceiling nor in the area behind the dash / under the a-pillar?
If this is where the wire was supposed to go, i'd suspect a collision repair removed that wiring and this is why the dome light won't come on.
So quick question (to wrap it all up) : is that where the door to dome lighting wiring should be? Just checked the passenger side wiring, its all there, but no connector to test for ground...
EDIT: I found a diagram that lists that the connector is on the passenger side, below the dash line, so I'm sure i can resolve this myself now.
EDIT: Was BOTH soldering connections in the cluster, and the switch on the dome light itself. Resolved now.
