Ignition Switch or not?
I have a 92 accord DX
i was driving with no problem then my Ignition lock cylinder locked up so i had to pull it. i drove with the old screwdriver in the Ignition switch for a day or two with no problems.
With security, and well aesthetics, in mind i knocked the pins out of the Ignition lock cylinder (so i could just use the key) and put back in. but when i slid it back in place i heard a tiny spark sound.
Removed switch again and tried starting just turning it, nothing happens
no fuse is blown and my headlights/signals turn on
Am i right in thinking it's the Ignition Switch that i shorted?
if so, how do i replace it? i don't know where the plug end goes.

Re: Ignition Switch or not?
Ignition Switch Electronics is easy to replace. On my 92 EX, there are 3 6mm hex head screws on the white switch at the left end of the lock assembly with one in the switch housing and two on the black plastic cover that holds it in place.
The wire harness for it wraps under the steering column down the right side of the column then crosses back left and terminates in the fuse box.
I got an new Original Honda part from a dealer on EBay for about $50 delivered. Majestic has them for about $42 but the shipping and handling will put you up to about $50 there too.

Re: Ignition Switch or not?
oh yes i have the part, i just want to double check on my instinct because if i'm wrong, it is money that i desperately need to fix it properly.
yeah i was luck that my local shop had the part for 40 even, after tax.
