ok i looked at the accord faq and one dude said the jack points is in the middle of the splash gaurd for the front, and hte tow hook in the back.

out of everything ive seen the only safe, honda approved jack points are the 4inch long flang deal at ends of the side skirts, but those will only raise up one corner, and theres no room to jack up the car using the approved jack point and slip a jack stand under it in an apprved jack point

so so far, since ive had the car, ive just been risking my life, getting under the car while its on a jack

so anyone know how to use jackstands on this car?

or am i just gonna have to buy those ramp things that u drive up onto

the two points you mentioned is honda's reinforced jacking point, if you don't believe it then don't

just like iam7head said, those are the correct jack points you are supposed to use. That link is in the Accord FAQ for a reason . It's listed in the Helm manual to use those points to jack the car up with as well. I almost always use those, I rarely ever just lift one corner of the car unless I'm changing a flat tire.

And be safe, don't go under the car without it being safely supported by jack stands.

you can go a little farther under the car and use the frame rails too.

The crossmember just front of the engine, the lower control arms, the legs of subframe or * ideally the uni body lifting point* (by the rocker panels) are all safe. but always use standsnot just the jack.

so i tried the front jack point today, it works perfect (duh haha) from the pics, i couldnt see that theres kind of a hump thingy right behind the edge of the splash gaurd, and as far as using the actual HOOK in the rear to lift, that sounds retarded, but that double reinforced kind of pad thing right infront of the hook looks like a decent place to jack up the *** end of the car

thanks yall, the stupid haynes manual just kept saying about the four jackpoints on the corners and "use jackstands" never mentiond the front and rear points

yeah, I don't really care for Haynes or the other manuals like it. Once you use a Helm manual nothing compares. If you plan on doing a lot of your own work on your car, a Helm manual may be a good investment. It's a bit pricey but it pays for itself in the labor costs it saves you.

Stop being a *****, jack the ****** car up and stick the jackstands under somthing thats not gonna bend or move, and let the jack down, shake the car, and if it dont move then your fine

now that I would highly recommend against. You shouldn't do that. Things happen, it's best to always use jackstands when going under the car.

i know, i dont really like doing that, but i actually dont have jack stands right now, since i couldnt figure out how to possibly use them, but my grandpa has a bunch of jackstands, as well as those big floor jacks, but i think ill buy my own set rather than bum a pair offa him,

you dont have to be an *** about it, i know its dumb, geez, its very rarely that i do that, and its ussually where i could get myself under without raising the car up, but where itd be nice to have a little more room

I just use ramps. Then again, the only thing I do on my Honda (’99 LX) is changing the oil, I’ve never had any mechanical problems. Heck, I’m even on the original battery over 8 years after I bought the car.
