Post a picture of the inside of the tail lights you need to replace. There should be covers near the ends on either side to replace the bulbs. It'll give me a better idea. That's the best diagram aNd if you go to any Honda dealer in the States they use thed same one.

OP, I hope you can see it this time. If you can't, go to www.majestichonda.com and click on Parts and look it up in their catalog.

001Master,
Here's the procedure that I follow when changing the tail light bulbs on a '00 Accord coupe:
1) Open the trunk.
2) Either carefully pry off the rear light trim covers, or unfasten the retainers then remove the trim covers.
3) If necessary, you can unplug the electrical connector (ref #15 in the diagram) from the bulb assembly. (ref #23 in the same diagram below)
4) Remove the bulb socket from the light assembly by turning it counterclockwise 1/4 of a turn.
5) To remove the bulb, carefully pull it straight out of the socket.
6) Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
7) To ensure that the replacement bulb functions properly, activate the applicable switch to illuminate the bulb which was just replaced. If the replacement light bulb does not illuminate, either it is faulty or there is a problem in the bulb circuit or switch. Correct as necessary.

I hope that you are able to view this diagram Remember to handle the bulb with care when removing it from the electrical connector, as they are fragile and can shatter under stress (much like a Death Cab For Cutie fan's heart )

Can you post a photo of the cover you're referring to? It will give us a better idea of how to help you. I can't imagine that a cover would have silicone on the edges to cover a light bulb. Can you refer to the diagram which cover you're speaking about.

This seems not to be the right cover to get access to the bulb. open the trunk and try to remove the trim from the rear of it.

You're not suppose to try to remove the reflector lenses. It should be the lid covers (there are 2 depending on which side the bulbs are out) that you remove to access the bulbs. It should be one bolt (#32) holding on each of the cover.

The bulbs are inside the trunk lid. Open the lid and remove the covers inside the lid. You're not supposed to remove the lens cover to replace the bulbs. Follow the diagram and look for #15 and #23. #15 is your connector. You will need to turn it counterclockwise. Be careful and don't use a whole lot of force. You could damage it. Once it's out, pull the bulb and turn clockwise to secure the connector. Repeat for opposite side. Good luck. Remember, the connectors are on the outside of the lid. That is, the edge on either side of the trunk opening.
