Default How do you remove exhaust piping from a 94 Accord?

Im trying to replace the oil pan gasket but I have to remove the exhaust pipe blocking it. How do I remove the pipe? There's two bolts with a spring with some sort of locking nuts connecting it to the catalytic converter and when I used a ratchet or a wrench nothing.

Help would be much appreciated.

Assuming it is similar to my 93's, it might be easier to disconnect the "A" pipe from the manifold and the bracket on the back of the block, leave it attached to the converter and just undo some of the rubber hangers to allow the pipe to drop far enough to remove the pan. The bolts/nuts at the converter are probably rusted pretty badly, better to leave them alone until/unless the pipe and/or converter need to be replaced.

That's what I did. Take the headers out, swing the downpipe to right side (facing forward) and take the middle frame. Had enough access to take out the pan. Tried to remove the bolts on the downpipe before cat but highly impossible, also sprayed some wd40 it didn't help. Wouldn't recommend it even if the car is supported by axle stands, watch yourself, these bolts are tight.

i'm not trying to be ignorant, but if you can't figure out how to unbolt exhaust, are you sure you should be pulling the oil pan off yourself? like i said, i'm not trying to be a dick here. but if you can read a manual on how to change the gasket, i'm sure it would tell you how to take the exhaust off.

The bolts are all rusted in. I used WD-40 and nothing. I removed the three nuts in the front trying to get the exhaust pipe off but theres some sort of locking bolt at the top locking the manifold to the exhaust pipe and I cant get that off to detach if from the exhaust manifold.

the bolts were rusted badly on my exhaust too. i installed a cat-back last week. instead of just taking the cat back off, i had to take the cat AND the cat-back off. i had to cut the stock bolts off, and use other bolts. if you have a grinder or sawzall, you might be able to do it a little easier. or, just buy a header, and a complete cat-back system, and scrap the stock exhaust.
