I recently purchased a Used 96 Accord. There is a slight noise when ever a left turn is made. I heard that the CV boot or possible the axle might need to be replaced.
How hard are these to do ? Should I just take it in somewhere to have it done or is this a fairly easy DIY.

For me, it was easy because I have my steering knuckle out. I would say, it was pretty easy. Just patience and time. If you have a rusty wheel area or live near salt/wet area, I suggest just bringing it to a shop. Most of the time, it is so rusted up, it's impossible to remove without a press.

The only part of this job you have to worry about is...
-remove the axle from the hub
-remove the axle nut.

its easy if you have all the tools...first check ur cv boot to make sure its the boot, which it probably is...just see if its torn...if your rotors and hubs are rusted then good luck lol your probably ganna have to take it to a shop if its rusted

If indeed, the axle needs replacing then you should most certainly attempt it yourself. (provided you're not a mechanical klutz) If you have to buy a few tools (36mm socket namely) then it's still worth the money saved. If you pay a shop to do it, and watch them, you'll be kicking yourself for not doing it at home.

I regret thinking that I could pop the lower ball joint without a bearing puller. I was way wrong; even with the bearing puller I had to use serious force. I even put my air wrench onto the bearing puller's threaded bolt. That popped it open, heh. Learn from me and rent the appropriate tools the first time around.

I used Advance Auto Parts loaner tool program for the ball-joint puller kit....also for the axle sockets too....just need a 1/2" 2-3ft long breaker bar and a lil elbow grease and those pesky axle nuts are a easily removable....NEVER FORGET upon reinstall....lock the axle nut .
