nice, I did that a while ago, but only the gauges and temp controls. I didn't know the small bulbs in the cluster for the fuel/temp. thanks

Re: how to: amber gauges in 4th gen accord (bacal36)
well, i'd like to say i do, but my digital camera wont' take pictures when i try it. it just comes out black. I'm gonna try to use my gf's regular film camera and open the apature really wide then scan that. that should work. give me a week or 2 to get that up. here is basically what it looks like, only that's a integra dash. it looks the same at night, only an accord dash:

Re: how to: amber gauges in 4th gen accord (KTeller8)
if it's a 4th gen accord then yes, the bulbs is probably out and that's how you get to it. That bulb if i do remember is a special 74 size. It has a weird attachment to the circuitboard. You have to buy it from honda, but it shouldn't cost more than 1$ and it's easy to replace.
and on 5th gen, in my family i have a 2nd gen, 3rd gen, 4th gen, and 6th gen accord, no 5th gen. I'll try to find someone with a 5th gen accord so i can strip it and make a how to. It shouldn't be much different.
anyways, is the site ok? any suggestions on how to make it better to read and such. i just kinda threw it together quickly.

the 5th gen is almost the same. the only differences i can remember will be the removal of the parts but the colour changing part should be exactly the same, well the bulb quantites are probly different.
I'm gonna change my 4th gen to either red or purple to match my stereo. probly purple.

not to go back off topic, but is there anything else that could cause the gas light not to come on? the car was hit, before she got it and her srs light is always on and i see she got a new steering wheel. couldnt it be a bad blub or more you think?

gas light not coming on, probably bad bulb. That would be the only thing i can thing of since that bulb if i do remember is soldered to the board so the connection shouldn't be loose. I don't recall, and i don't have the time to tear mine apart again so the only thing i can say is take it apart and check the bulb. at least it's not that important of a bulb that burnt out.

umm....that bulb for the guage he is talking about is the indicator for low fuel, isn't not removable like the bulb you are probably thinking about. you have to take the cluster all to pieces to get to this bulb.....not fun
and those pics don't work.

What gen you have?
it can be done.
the fastest way is to get those rice boy red tranparent tint.
it looks so good.
I just did it on my 6th gen.
******* gel cap(aka colored condom) works better than tinted light blub.
btw i did mine with red 194's

dude the stuff on the back of the gauge plates,............ the blue film that you could not get off, dose come off. ...................................I know there was a good reson other then sex to have a wife/or a girlfriend around............here is how to take it off.
This is if you live with your girlfriend(you sucker). when she has gone to bed and is asleep go to the bathroom and get here nail polish remover and a few q-tips. dip the q-tip in the nail polish remover , then put some on the back of the blue film let sit a few secound and scrub with the q-tip.... and those of you with out a girl
go get daddy's pain thinner................................late

Re: how to: amber gauges in 4th gen accord (iam7head)
btw i have a 4th gen i have red 194s on and testors red on the rest, the whole dash is red now (cruise, dimmer, heater controls, gauges) except for the clock, my problem is that the guage face has a bluegreen backing and not a film that you can peel off, thus the dimmer redviolet looking gauge digits(the mini-car looks nice tho ) i jus tried the amber 194s too and theyre not as amber as i expected( a lil too white) plus i dont have pics to show...oh well
96accordex: id on live wid my girl(im not a sucka ) but my moms and sis is under tha same roof as me( i guess all that stuff in the bathroom is useful after all... thanks ill go check dat out

wenekle84 .......that is what i was talking about, the bluegreen backing, it comes off with nail polish remover................ as i type im doing a deep purple-blue like the jetta, beetle vw's i like that color they have on there gauge cluster if you ever get to see one, or know what i'm talking about. i will do a diy when i finish i'm going to take me time and do it right..................about changing the digi-clock color it may work for me but not for you i have this film with a sticky back im going to open the clock up add this film and close it up ......... im sure i will get the right color i want because my microwave has the same digi-clock color, as my car . i put the film in front of the clock and i got the right color i was looking for .

Re: how to: amber gauges in 4th gen accord (96accordex)
actually, the amber bulbs are really amber, but that bluish tint makes them look a little more white. I like the amber look more than that testors orange. they look a little too dark orange with the testors paint (but still better than blue). my head unit is true amber and it pretty much matches my guages with the amber bulbs in it.
