Horn blows when brake pedal applied 93 accord
Does anyone what would cause the brake to short out into the horn? The release for the shifter and the brakes lights don't work. But the horn blows when you depress the brake pedal. I tried a new stop light switch and that wasnt the problem.

Re: Horn blows when brake pedal applied 93 accord (russ61nc)
A little more info. I know that the Horn and the brake light are on the same fuse. As I said the brake light doesnt come on unless you depress the brake pedal and the horn button together. Odd isnt it. Anyone got an Idea whats going on here?

Not to be an ***, but lmfao...I don't really have much advice, but I couldn't help my self from replying...
So at every light you hit you are laying on your horn...someone is gonna road rage on ya
sorry again for no help...maybe its a crossed wire...any work done to the electrical system...or has it been stolen before??

ok on the right side of the car bekind the kick panel (an inch or so away from the door) there is a ground bolt, check it out and see if it's ok. (clean connection and tight)

These Accords (90-93) have a problem with the tail light lens assembly gaskets and housings. Water leaks in and corodes the pins on the brake light sensors. This can cause a bunch of problems as mentioned before the horn and brake lights are on the same fuse. Check the sensors and see if the connections are green. (Sensors are along side of the bulbs in the trunk access panels) Good luck!

Re: (MooGoCow3)
I found the ground in question on the right side underneath the kick panel. It looked good but I cleaned it anyway. Unfortunately that wasn't the problem. I will
try the connectors on the tail light lenses next. Thanks

Try unplugging the connector from the brake light sensor. Then unplug the horns. See if you get different results. Check the ground somewhere around your tail lights to see if that one is any good.

pull your underhood fuse box out and look at the connectors that plug into the fuse box. i have seen a fried wire at that connector cause that exact problem. maybe that will help you out!

Re: (MooGoCow3)
Problem solved guys. Thanks to all that contributed. I pulled the fuse box under the hood again and removed all the connectors. Thats when I found the problem. I had a wire melt the plastic of the connector. Repaired that and everything works just fine.
