Between the valve stem and the cam followers adjuster screw.
It's a three handed job, the forth being used to hold beer
Let me see if I can scare up the valve specs

Specs are INTAKE .26mm [.010"]
EXHAUST .30mm [.012"]
I usually set a heavy drag on the feeler guage because when you tighten the locknut it draws the screw up slightly.

Re: Single Cam valve adjustment (hondadude)
good pics thanks. I was doing the adjustment last night so i checked where it was before i touched anything at all, it was alittle loose so i wanted to tighten them up alittle bit. I went to adjust them and it seemed like barely any movement (probably not even 1/32 of a turn) would cause the spec do from WAY too loose to WAY to tight. Is this normal ? Also i was having a hard time getting an accurate reading while using straight feeler gauges, does using angled feeler gauges make it much easier ? Im wondering if the reason this happened was because i couldnt get a good angle using the straight feeler gauges.
Also is a loose valve lash (loose as it out of spec loose) going to make noise ?

Feeler gauges come in two varieties:
Straight and Not So Straight (As illustrated in the afore supplied illustration).
The Not So Straight are manufactured with a 45 degree 'foot' aproximately 1/2" long.
Those are the one's you want for this venture.
... or you can (If you don't mind "Modifying your tools) bend the ones you've got.

Re: Single Cam valve adjustment
Well, I did the adjustments on my car, triple checking the valves and now the when the car started cold, the valves tick much louder. I didn't let it warm up as I was afraid of engine damage.
When I check the specs on the valves before adjustments, all of the exhaust valves were too tight. Could loosen the exhaust valves back to manufacturer specs have cause this ticking?
Thanks.

Re: Single Cam valve adjustment
I haven't exactly heard of them being too tight causing clicking. I did just recently adjust my slightly loose clearances on my 2000 Accord (F23A1) and the valve lash noise/clicking got a lot quieter. Also make absolutely sure you're doing this on a COLD block and the exact specs for the gaps, I'm not sure about your motor but with mine I had two different sizes for intake valves and exhaust valves.
Best of luck!
