Help changing fuel pump... 90 Accord LX
I have a 1990 Honda Accord LX 2dr
Ok, well here we go, i just got my car back from the shop from having a motor rebuild done. And i drove it around for the day no problems cept every once in a while while driving around that night it would putter just once like a hic-up.
Anyways, today my fuel pump went out. And I want to know how to change it. I found the plate that is located on the passenger side of the car and removed it and it allowed me to get to the plug that plugs into my gas tank, i measured 12 volts on one fo the pins with the key on and i think 6 volts on another pin, and 0 on the thrid pin of the plug. And the fuel pump was inaudible. So i went and checked my fuel rail and there was no pressure at all so i assumed my feul pump was bad.
So can anyone tell me how to change my fuel pump? Can i take it out through the hole of my car on the passenger side where I removed the plate? Or does the tank need to be dropped??? Oh, also, looking down through the hole, there is tones of rust and corrostion on the meatel of where the plug plugs on, but the terminals on both the unit and plug it self are fine.
