h22a trany to an f22b2 block
I have a 97 lx accord, and I was thinking about doing a h22a trans swap on to it. (I already did searches on here to see if it was posted before with no luck) so I was woundering possiable probs, and tips on doing this swap.

OK instead of being a jackass like these other dudes, I explain it for you......
1 The H22a engine has a redline not the transmission. The redline for H22a is pretty lofty at 7900rpm
2. installing a H22 trans will give you better accelleration at the cost of fuel economy. You will be turning 4K at 70 versus 2800 with the trans that came with your accord.

Re: (I got the CD5 Jeebies!)
does anyone have first hand experience with this in regards to performance? times? etc... just wondering b/c i have an h22 tranny already and my car is a 95 ex with 101,xxx miles and i am doing a clutch/flywheel in the next few weeks and was pondering throwing the h22 tranny in then.
i get almost 400 miles to the tank now, how much worse could it be? 340-350 per tank?

And as to how much will it knock you 1/4 times there is so many aspects and variables to really give a good guestimation....depends on the driver, car, blah blah blha....you fuel economy will go down...but you will rip throught the gears alot faster...you don't by any chance know the tranyn code do you?

Re: (hb_guy)
if you are talking about the trany cod on the f22 I will check that tomarrow, but as far as the h22 I have not gotten one, yet. I was thinking of getting one from a junk yard and rebuilding it. is there and spcific make, or year I should go for, or even trany code? I will learn.

Re: (Mr Wonderfull)
ok well thanks for all the info. I think I will stick with the f series now. may be just rebuiled the motor an trans. I mean 190k, and still runs smooth, and strong. and as far as internals, all I have is a port and polish. overall it sounds like the swap wouldn't be worth it because this is my daily driver, and I still love the 28mpg city .
