i saw this is preludezone.com, is it necessary to do this when u allready top dead the whole motor?
8. Make sure the crankshaft is positioned with the No. 1 piston at TDC.
9. Align the groove on the front balancer shaft pulley with the pointer on the oil pump housing as shown.
10.Align the rear balancer shaft pulley by using a 6x100mm bolt as a alignment tool. Insert the bolt into the maintenacne hold about 3/4 the length of the bolt.
11. Loosen the adjusting nut and verify that the timing balancer belt adjuster moves freely
12. Install the timing balancer belt. Remove the 6x100mm bolt from the rear balancer shaft.
13. Turn the crankshaft pulley about one turn, then tighten the adjusting nut to the specified tq.
Both belt adjusters are spring loaded to properly tension the eblts. Do not add any extrea pressure to the pulleys or tensioners while adjusting.

yeah, the pulley can be lined up with the mark on the oil pump but not truely be in time. it's because of the gearing behind the housing that makes the rear shaft spin clockwise (opposite crankshaft rotation). using this method is good insurance that the shaft is timed properly, although it can just as well be done without the long bolt.
