Default H22 in a 1992 accord NEED HELP ASAP!!!!!!!!@@@!@!@!@!@!!

Ok here is the deal;

I just bought an accord off a man like 5 days ago.

It is a 1992 manual accord with a H22a engine in it.

Anyways the problem is the vtec does not engage!

I checked the ecu and it turns out there is a 1995 accord non vtec ecu in there right now. The car runs great and idles fine with the non vtec ecu and drives fine just no vtec!!!

So anyways I tried my friends H22a automatic tranny ecu and the car would not idle at all but it would run if you gave it gas at idle it just would not idle on its own.. this makes sense cause auto is different sensors and stuff so its understandable.. no check engine lights or anything though

So today I bought a good ecu that is a P13 H22 manual ecu OBD1.. now once i plugged it in the car insantly gets a check engine light and it bogs really bad off the line and is slow and it redlines at 6500RPM for some reason (you hit limiter then) and there is no vtec still..

So anyways I was thinking they may have messed the wiring.. so I totally rewired the connection A4 from the wire harness to the vtec solendoid and D6 from the harness to the vtec pressure switch and made sure everything was good there.. then plugged in the p13 manual again and started it from a cold start and the idle was bouncing around but it would run.. just an inconsistant idle.. then i went to the throttle body and gave it gas and the car would bog hard core when you gave it gas and almost sound like it had a vacume leak or something like that.. even though i checked all the vacume lines... Still no vtec and I have a check engine light

I am going out the garage right now to see where the code is.. this sounds dumb but anyone know where the diagonsit port is that would help.. lol I will let you guys know the code..

Also could this be related to the knock sensor or IAB connection??

Any help would be great.. where excatly is the IAB what color is the wire? and where is the knock snesor wiring?

Thanks

the codes are:

22 92-98 Civic
93-98 Prelude
94+ Integra VTEC Oil Pressure Switch defective circuit or unplugged / defective oil pressure switch
* invalid code for non-VTEC engine

and

41 92-98 Civic
97-98 CRV
90-98 Prelude
94+ Integra Primary Oxygen Sensor - Heater circuit malfunction

Any ideas? I need help!

could be a faulty oil pressure sensor, try replacing it. thats pretty much the only reason i could for see a 22 being thrown...

for your o2, check to see that no wires have melted from contact with the exhaust of no connections have seperated if it has been lengthened to be mounted further downstream in the exhaust system...

ok i read somewhere that the jdm cars have 2 o2 sensors and the USDM cars have 1

the engine is a JDM prelude motor

and the ecu is a USDM one (actually CDM.. but they are the same) could that be messing it up?

This really really really upsets me.

Can i use the USDM ECU with the JDM engine? could this be my problem?

To my knowledge most Hondas that are OBD1 and OBD0 have only 1 O2 sensor. that is your second code. So either the O2 is defective or the wiring is bad.

Your first code is either in relation to the oil pressure switch, or the VTEC solenoid. Check your pinouts and see if the switch is bad:

VTEC Solenoid: Grn/Yel on Prelude harness > Pin A4 on ECU // SENSOR LOCATION: Near distributor
VTEC Pressure Switch: Lt Blu on Prelude harness > Pin D6 on ECU // SENSOR LOCATION: Near distributor
Blk/Red > Ground
IAB: Pink on Prelude harness > Pin A17 on ECU // SENSOR LOCATION: Drivers side of intake manifold
Blk/Yel > 12V
Knock Sensor: Red/Blu on Prelude harness > Pin D3 on ECU // SENSOR LOCATION: Middle back of block

Double check your info on here: http://www.accordinglydone.com...=9744

here is an update with pictures

Thanks

http://www.accordinglydone.com...12664

o2 code is now gone.. code 22 is still there.. I think its one of 3 things

1) the pressure switch

2) the full solenoid assembly with pressure switch (although the pistion moves freely and the screen is nice and clean)

3)most of all though i think it may be the oil pressure.. i have yet to test it.. does anyone know the correct oil pressure numbers at idle for a h22a?

Cheers
