chiltons states to inspect dis. cap, rotor and wires at like 60k--but you probably know that if you know the 30k on brake fluid. as well inspect valve clearance every 30k according to chiltons. so it seems that we have the same info, and i didnt help at all.

have your wires and thermostat been changed since you owned her?

i cant imagine you have to change the brake fluid every 30k, unless there are noticeable problems in the area. it probably couldnt hurt to replace the ignition wires, just for maintenance purposes.

you SHOULD change the fluid according to the schedule especially if you live along the coast, alot or rain, snow or humity in the air.
you have to bleed them out

Valves should be adjusted every 15,000 miles, which sucks for those of us who drive alot of miles

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by DIYaccord &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">... and why should you change the brake fluid that often?</TD></TR></TABLE>Because brake fluid is hygroscopic. It absorbs moisture from the air & that makes it corrosive.

Better yet, a Helm shop manual has a REALLY GOOD set of instructions... You said you've got a Chiltons manual. I would have thought that valve adjustment would be in there, too.

If you didn't change your brake fluid I could see it rotting out the brake system, mainly the MC. It could provide worse braking (since it heats up) especially if its corroded etc.
