gas meter acting up...?
hello, i have a 94 ex coupe. whenever i fill the gas tank all the way up, sometimes till it over flows, the meter would not go all the way up. sometimes when i jerk the car, the meter would drop passed empty. sometimes randomly it would just drop down low. after i fill up the tank, sometimes it would say i have 1/4 tank left. im not too sure what to trust, cause i would probably have to put gas in everyday if i listened to my meter. its getting close so 230 miles on my tank so far and its been under the 1/4 mark for a few days. im getting a little worried, im not even sure if my low gas tank light even works. can someone help me fix my problem? i was searching the other threads and some people said it was the floater in the gas tank. but im not sure if these are the same conditions as the others. please help soon. thanks in advance!

Re: gas meter acting up...? (sad)
this is a common problem with 5gens..my gas light doesnt turn on until my meter goes past the last line..if you really want to fix it..take it to a mechanic or honda and ask them what is wrong..btw have you installed indiglos recently?

Honda had a bulletin about this problem. It is number 95-013
SYMPTOM
The fuel gauge does not go to the “F” mark when the tank is filled.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The sending unit in the fuel tank has excessive electrical resistance.
VEHICLES AFFECTED
1994 Accord: All
Like was said above ... it is very easy to change. It is removed via the access panel behind the rear seat ... under the carpet.
The part number you need is:
37800-SV4-A03

Re: gas meter acting up...? (1DOC422)
1998 Accord v6 Owner I have a similar problem when i fill it up it goes to 3/4 when its full and in motion when its parked it goes all the way to F. I asked a honda guy he said he would chrge $500 Canadian all together i think that too much for me to spend on just a little problem and anyways when its empty the light comes on. Other than that, sometimes when i put Octance booster and stuff it get good and stays at 3/4 mark for a while. I m not sure if there is something wrong with the fuel tank. Does any one have any brilliant ideas.

the only thing that will leak gas is the gas dripping from the sending unit while u pull it out thats all . butt it only took me like 15 mins to install it . i bought it new off of honda for around $125-150 . i dont really remember . butt if u can just try to get that part off another car from a friend or the junkyard . removing it is as simple as 123 . i think all u have to do is pull one electrical connector . then its a circular cover with a few screws . after u take that out you should see the sending unit with like 5 bolts . just ubolt that and pull it out gently . and then put in the new sending unit gently because you dont want to damage any of the electrical or magnetic components on the fuel sending unit . that should be all i believe .

Re: (redxalien)
yea my car does the same
but... if you take the same part off the same car, when just about all if not all of them have this problem, then how does it fix the problem?
