Fuel octane in a 1991 Accord
I'm running an F22A4 in my 1991 Accord EX sedan, and I've always used 91 octane because of all these things I've heard about how bad low-octane gas is. The owners manual says I can run any octane over 86, so I'm wondering if I'm wasting money by running 91 octane or if I can continue to run 91 octane. Oh, I use Shell gasoline, and the 91 octane is Shell V-Power. The F22A4 is 8.8:1 compression. The owner's manual also says I can run 10% ethanol-blended gas, but if I do, the octane of the blended gas has to be equal to or greater than the octane of 100% gasoline. I think Shell's gas is ethanol-blended.
