Default Fork and Control Arm bolt

Hi -

How do you remove the bolt that holds lower control arm to fork? It seems to rusted froze inside the control arm bushing. I tried to knock it out with a hammer but with no luck. Also, do you need to remove the fork/control arm connection to remove drive shaft?

Thanks.

Jim

yes the fork has to be removed to take out the drive shaft. spray it good with some lube and hit it a few times with a hammer then let it soak in. if you have a pretty strong impact gun (500 ft/lbs) hit it good going back and forth (fwd/rev) until it comes out easily. if you dont have an impact gun, use a long breaker bar/pipe. chances are that if you dont have the impact sockets (black) you'll break the chrome sockets or shear the bolt itself. good luck.

got the same problem here. Broke off the bolt head, other end broke off too after soaking for 2 days in PBlaster, sledge hammer w/punch does nothing: stuck little sucker. Looks like I will have to cut through the lower ctl arm bushing and cut it out that way.
