Fans Not Turning on Automatically
I have done the search and have read the obvious, and nothing specific to what i'm looking for
Got a PHDM 96 Accord with H22
car came in with a jumper wire on the thermoswitch, we figured they jumpered the line due to a non functioning switch. so we went ahead and replaced the thermoswitch with a replacement non-oem part, reconnected line and now the fans automatically turn on and off
(opened the thermostat housing and found no thermostat, so we installed a new one as well)
car drives fine for a day and suddenly overheats due to the fans stopped functioning automatically
we check line on thermoswitch and we have continuity, put a jumper clip and fans turn on.
= Now the Question is.
Do the Replacement Brand Non-OEM Thermoswitches fail prematurely, is it possible the new part failed within a day?
i know you get what you pay for, but has anyone used the replacement switches and have not had any problems since.

Re: Fans Not Turning on Automatically
i had this problem on mine and i even got to open the housing as well and found it empty. i just replaced the connector at the fan to the car harness which looked like it was getting water from the radiator hose leaking. never bothered again.

Did it overheat when you're at a dead stop or driving?
And no, aftermarket Thermostat shouldn't fail within a day. I bought cheap Carquest brand before, and worked for who knows how long w/o any issue. My dad's '94 Accord EX likes to overheat when you're not moving, but is ok when you're driving/moving. I replaced the Thermostat switch on the Thermostat housing and still no go. I did another F22B1 engine swap on the car, and fan works normal like it should which I thought was weird as hell. But I have a feeling the headgasket might've been blown from the last guy who owned it.

Re: Fans Not Turning on Automatically
fan motors are good
jumpered the switch line and fans turn on automatically
but as soon as we connect the line to the replacement fan thermoswitch, the fans dont turn automatically, could it be a defective replacement thermoswitch, we even used known working oem thermoswitches from other Honda's and the fans dont turn on at all

Re: Fans Not Turning on Automatically
Found the culprit:
Dead Positive Line connection on Thermoswitch B (connected to housing on upper radiator hose)
we basically connected a line from working Positive line connection from Thermoswitch A into B to get automatic fan function back

Had the same problem in my 94 accord, it would overheat at idle, but not while driving. I changed the radiator cap and it fixed the problem, at idle the cap doesn't create enough pressure (it leaks out through a broken rubber seal on) and it overheats you car, while running the steam can't leak out fast enough.
