Default fan problem

I think I might have a cooling fan problem, the fan does not turn on when I'm driving around and my temp guage is rising all the way to H. When I park and turn the car off, the fan kicks on and thats only time I've noticed my fan to come on. What should I look at to solve this problem?

Check your coolant level.. and check your water pump..

if you're driving, the air is already being forced through the radiator cooling the system down.. that's not to say the fan shouldn't turn on, but there could be something wrong with your cooling system.
