F23 Vtec RPM??? (searched already)
Hey guys,
I have an F23 VTEC stock except air intake. The other day, i was messing around the road and went full throttle at 2,000 rpm in 2nd. when it hit 2,500, i noticed a power and sound increase, like a "kick" that would be noticed on a B series or other DOHC VTEC engagement. But I know that VTEC even on an F23 is not supposed to be that low in the RPMs. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Does anyone know what this is? has anyone heard this too? It always happens and is very noticeable especially with the intake.
Thanks!

my understanding and experience with F23A1 VTEC function is that it can engage between 2800 and 3500 depending on throttle postion (and maybe other things) and then run all the way to redline. so i would say that is VTEC you're hearing. it's just used differently than on high reving B-series and the like.

VTEC on the F23 is variable. The engagement point is dependent on oil pressure, rpm, load, throttle position, etc., and can engage anywhere between 2300 and 3800 rpm.

Yeah, mine will do the same thing, but not all the time. You definitely get a really deep sound out of the intake when it does.
Unfortunately, its still slow
