Default F23/H22 boost questions

What up guys, Iam thinking of doing the F23/H22 hybrid and fully building it for mad boost. I konw that some guys say just get an H22 and start from there, but i have a 2000 accord coupe F23vtec and the H22 is not a direct swap and it will prob cost about 4 grand in all to do, and plus the F23 is already in the car with all neccessary componets (hoses, mounts, exhaust, etc) that usually have to hunted down for motor swaps. I have also read the threads about the F23 stroke (97mm) being bad for boost because of piston speeds and less dwell time and rpm, but if i used the H22 crank with H22 rods and pistons and OBD1 ecu will I be out of the clear for the piston speed and rpm issue. After i get used to the new setup (f23/dohc vtec) which i will probably be driving around for a while, I plan to fully build it to be a turbo monster!! (better sleeves, block guard, low CR pistons, rods, seals, engine management, etc)

I know there are some knowledgable people on this tech site like SamIam26 who did the F23/H22 turbo hybrid and PirateMcFred who did the high CR F23/H22 hybrid plus lots of other hybrid guys out there or anyone else.

SO ALL THE TECH GUYS WHO KNOW THERE **** OR JUST LEARING LIKE ME, PLEASE JUMP IN AND LETS DISCUSS THIS!!!!

actually, in my opinion and from what i've heard, fast piston speed (long stroke) is better for boost...you will generally see larger tourque gains and possibly less lag...as for your hybrid, you cannot put h22 pistons in the f23 without boring out 1mm...what you can do however is this:

97+ h22 block (bored 1 mm over)
your stock h23 crank
h23 rods
oversized 88mm h22 pistons
+
h22 head

this setup will yield somewhere around a 2.4 liter big block honda...just don't rev it too high...if you want to sleeve the block and build it all for boost, you'd have one hell of a motor on your hands...but you said you didn't want to swap full out to h22...so i dunno, it's up to you...

you might want to ask notoriouB a few questions. he's just about done with his fully built F23 turbo accord. He's got Crowler rods and pistons, and he says the motor runs the ***** at 8psi(plans on boosting way higher), but he has a issue with his brakes right now that allow him to have fun with the new motor and a few other gremlins but its installed and running.

I think the two main concerns when dealing with Hondas and Turbo is compression and block type. If your block design is an 'open block' design (i think also known as having 'floating cylinder walls' .. These type motors cant handle boost ..

ITR & CTR are high compression motors .. and are said to be not as good for turbo charging.
