Re: f22b or???
That's the F22B1. It's the same engine, with VTEC. It'll drop right in but you will have to make the necessary changes to the wiring/ECU to get the VTEC working. You're only going to gain something like 15hp if more power is your goal.

Bingo, I'd take it to sell.
It's OBDII and VTEC, so you'd have to do some wiring and hardware swaps to get it to work - if you're asking what kind of motor and not sure if an Accord came with a VTEC motor you probably don't want to do that work yourself.

That's fine and dandy, but you will still have:
1) Add the additional required sensors (and wiring) to your car
2) Purchase an OBDI to OBDII conversion harness for the ECU
3) Hope it all still works and wasn't damaged during accident/swap
And depending on whether it was automatic or manual, work with that as well. IIRC 96/97 had the TCU integrated into the ECU. 94/95 had a separate TCU.

Yes for the wiring and ECU. Because you'll need to wire up VTEC Pressure Switch & VTEC Solenoid. Also, you'll need the VTEC ECU for the F22B1 to run correctly. The F22B2 ECU will work but will throw codes and it won't be running at it's full potential and I suggest not to go that route.

Easy work, not much too it at all. I can do it in a weekend! 20hrs, maybe less, depends on how many people stop buy and how many beer I drink Now for someone with absolutely no experience (obvious) this could take quite a bit of work and a lot of time. Not something you want to tackle yourself if this is your daily driver and you need it by the end of the weekend.
Ya know what, I hate to be that guy that comes in that seems to be offering no help and just says to do a search. However, with 73,473 threads in this Accord section and an FAQ with well over 100 links, no one should have to be that person.
Happy reading! After your done doing some more research there are always people around to help out with any specific issues pertaining to swaps.
PS if you can get your buddy to throw in the complete OBDII wire harness it might be worth the time to swap. Other than that, take the motor and sell it!

Re: f22b or???
It took me 2 weekends to get my swap running. and thats with also doing the clutch and flywheel as well a new head gasket, seals and timing + balance belt (which I would recommend you change if you decide to swap it in because its easy when the motor is out) and many small things going wrong. with all that the motor should be golden for the next 50,000+ miles.
That was the first time every doing a motor swap and now that I have the experience I can do it in a weekend. if you go through with it find a friend that knows how and pay him some cash. A shop will charge you alot.
