Default F22A6 Balancer Shaft Problem. Not the timing.

Hello guys,

Been on the site before but forgot my old login name so this is a new one!. Heres the situation

92 Honda Accord with a F22a6. While rebuilding the bottom end of the engine I replaced the rear balancer shaft with one from another engine. Not really thinking that it could be weighted differently.

I have searched around many locations and cannot get a proper answer.

Are all the balancer shafts for the rear the same? I put a f22b2 rear balancer shaft into the f22a6 block with a f22a6 front shaft.

I know stupid Idea now that I think about it should have left the one from the f22a6 in.

so just to make it clear as day in the bottom end

front balancer shaft - f22a6
block - f22a6
rear balancer shaft - f22b2
crank - f22b2

Thanks folks!

Well I tried running the car without the Balancer belt on also. It is still acting the same way as it was with the balancers connected. Trying to figure out if it is something else.

Any input.... Anyone?

Well, I'm just curious as to why the balance shaft was replaced to begin with? As far as the balance of the motor is concerned, and from what i know, Hondas, being internally balanced rotating assembly, aren't affected by a loss of the inertia from the balance shafts, they are just there to smooth the engine out some... And if its a huge concern, just run a balance shaft eliminator kit. Save yourself some HP and revs, and end the confusion. And as far as I know they are all the same in the f-h series. But I've been wrong plenty and can't confirm. And what specifically was the problem?
