Default F22A1 turbo?

Hi guys just bought a 1991 honda Accord with a stock F22A1 SOHC . Well i want it to be able to be my daily driver but also me and my buddies just have small little quarter mile races 😂 and well so far iv been losing to every car that races me because ive been racing in my 3500 dually cummins, and now that i have a car that has some potential i want to know if im able to turbo it stock or will i have to do internal work . I know ill have to do the manifold and throttle body etc but, can i turbo it woth stock internals woth out blowing up my engine ? Even if i had at around 6 psi or even 5? Btw can probly tell but this is the first car ive ever owned only ever worked on diesels that come stock with turbos and i mean as far as i know can take alot more hp stock. So any info or something will help greatly . Ive also read that i should jusy swap my engine in for the H22 i think it was that was a DOHC but im not really down for buying another engine as i already have a another f22a1 with around 170000 less km on it idk what this is in miles exactly for you americans. Anyway i know also alot is based on the condition of the engine so.

Its got 310000 km spare engine has 170000 i think i dont know for sure but i remember it being alot less. Runs like a dream idles low atm but just need a tune in i think. Also does a weird vary vary slight jerk when i level out the trottle and am just cruzin might just be the gear though just noticed it today or even a fuel filter taking it into my shop to got over the fuel lines etc tmw. Mechanical wise thats all thats wrong with this puppy.

Btw i dont want it to be just for racing i know this engine wont ever make to the point where it wouldnt be able to not be a daily driver but id like it to have some juice so my buddies quite bugging me for buying a honda accord 😂😂 cant really please my truck buddies even though i still own my cummins .

Thank you !

Yes, you can boost it reliably as long as quality components are used and the setup is tuned appropriately. PSI is irrelevant. Torque levels are really the limiting factor on stock bottom end engines. A good, healthy F22 should be able to tolerate around 300lb-ft safely but your mileage may vary. Check out FAQ in the forced induction section to get your started and check out the "Official F22 Turbo" thread for more specific info on these kinds of setups.
