Default Engine sputtering even when driving.

Hello HT
im having an issue with my 94 accord, the engine is sputtering a lot (sometimes), even when im driving, i accelerate and it sounds like the engine is shooting with an AK 47, when idle, same thing, it sounds like an old car.
i bought a fuel filter but im not sure if that is the problem, yesterday i cleaned EGR valve and ports, this issue only happens sometimes, not always, any ideas?

Pull the plugs check for wear and gap, check the wires, check the cap/rotor.
If you have no record of when they were changed, change them.

Thank you, i will, its good to have an idea,
i took off my dist cap and it has a lot of corrosion,
will change those parts.
I have a question, can install a simple fuel filter in my car? deleting banjo bolt and all that stuff and use it with clamps?

Keep an eye out while in the distributor for that pesky ignition control module. It has three or two attachment screws and sits just below the rotor with three or four wire attachments with an attached heatsink. Some of those wires may be corroded and dry rotted. That c*** will start acting up and cause similar problems at least beyond 3000k and cut off intermittently in my experience. Don't buy a cheap one if that's the source of your problem. Its worth it to spend the extra cash. Ive had cheap ones go out in 3 mos. Napa ones are pretty reliable. Something worth a check.

i bought the cap and rotor and installed them, i labeled the wires position but someone told me they were incorrect, can you send me a picture of the correct firing order?
another thing, one of my cables is not firing, so i have to buy the cables,

thanks in advance

thnk you holmesnmanny, thats what i needed,
i fixed the wires issue, but i have another one, i think i screwed the ignition timing when i was trying to remove the rotor, because the car drives like hell, a lot of stuttering even at high rpms, i also made this test: with the car on, i unplugged the wires leading to the plugs, one by one, i they made a change in idle, except in plug #3, no change when unplugged, so i think i have a wire issue.
one cylinder not working can result in a huge loss of power and stuttering? or did i messed up the ignition timing?

One cylinder on a four is 1/4 power gone. Yes it will affect power output.
