Default Engine Coolant Temperature sensor on '88 Accord LXi

I own an '88 Accord LXi that was having erratic idle problems, and often would not start when hot. The problem finally got bad enough to trigger the CEL. ECM is now giving me code 6 (ECT sensor). When I went to check it out, I discovered there are two sensors in the thermostat housing (beside the temp sending unit) and I'm not sure which one or if both could be the problem. If anyone out there could help me out, I would be very grateful.
PS - 2.0 4 cyl

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you but you might want to ask this on http://3geez.com . It's a site dedicated to 3rd generation accords (86-89). Good luck

i looked in my honda factory service manual and didnt see any sensors called the ect sensor .. i would reset the ecu and look for other problems that the car may have ..... check for a possible intake manifold leak or a vaccum leak those are the problems your most likely to have
