Electrical Assistance Needed

Electrical Assistance Needed
I have a 97 accord with somewhat of an odd problem. My old cluster had a problem with the fuel gauge so I bought a new cluster off ebay & switched to led's at the same time. During bulb check the c.e.l illuminates and stays semi illuminated even though there are no codes. I swapped the main board and the problem persists. The old cluster had the c.e.l bulb removed so i didnt notice it before. I thought it was a defective led so i put in one that works and its the same.
Has anyone experienced this before? Its pissing me off seeing that light when i know there are no codes. Any help would be great

Tried that, i hooked up a code reader & there are not stored or pending codes. I put in a regular bulb & it did not light up at all during bulb check, i went through all the typical steps, thats why im posting

If you put in a regular bulb, and its fine...then I would think the LED is the issue. So run regular bulbs, LED and incandescent work differently. They have different resistances, and therefor have different current flow. I know when guys use LED main headlights...theres a special box they have to use in order for them to work properly

Re: Electrical Assistance Needed
As stated in my reply post, i put in a regular incandescent bulb & it did not work and since incandescent bulbs dont give a damn about polarity i know its not backwards as could happen with led. If it was a resistance issue, wouldnt all the other led's show the same problem? Theres a mix of t10s for cluster illumination & t5 neo wedge for the indicator lights. All of the other sockets are operating normally which made me think its an electrical issue with either the board or the wiring.
Judging from the responses ive gotten it seems that this is not a common issue & i have to dive into diagnostic or live with it

I dont know how much it will bother you(I mean how much $ are you willing to spend to fix the problem)...but you can always get a junkyard instrument cluster...and see what it does. That might help rule out the board..

Re: Electrical Assistance Needed
This is a second cluster. In my 1st post i mentioned that. The fuel gauge was inoperative and the c.e.l & oil light did not illuminate on bulb check. I could start testing the board to see if theres a fault but my work schedule doesnt make that so easy.
