Default Do throttle body spacers help horsepower?

he Helix Power Tower raises the throttle body unit 1 inch. That height combined with the unique Helix Screw design creates a vortex air flow and greatly improves fuel atomization. This results in a more complete combustion. It provides more horsepower, dramatically increases torque and improves fuel economy. It will not adversely affect emissions testing or new car warranty and can be used with any grade of fuel. Dollar for dollar there is nothing on the market today that can compare with the power increase you get with the Helix Power Tower. Easy-to-install with common hand tools.

Taken directly from http://www.tasautoparts.com I find it somewhat believable from what they have described but anything noticeable I guess is what im asking.....

Sounds like a sturdier version of the "Tornado" POS...I'm skeptical to say the least. However I will say that many people use them on the Chevy V8's so who knows.

from what i gather, the gains are from the increased plenum volume, and on throttle body injected cars and carbed cars, it adds runner length... IMO, the spiral is just a gimmick

On old carb'ed V8s, a throttle body spacer improved horsepower immensely. The spacer''compressed'' the incoming intake air around the outer surface area, speeding up the airflow through the center, creating more velocity. This improved flow and atomization. On 4 cyls, this isnt the problem it used to be. Hondas are fuel injected small engine cars, and the gains, if any, won't be great. If you want to mess with your IM and TB, get the TB bored and the IM matched. Otherwise just save your money for something better.

not gonna do anything, it's a pretty common mod for car from the PRE-EFI age.

better mixture and distribution of fuel=teh powa but welome to 05, your multi port injection, individual intake manifold would do the job BETTER

cliff note: if you into waste money paypal me instead

i have a helix spacer on my 6th gen accord v6... it didnt notice a difference it just makes a spooling sound on throttle... you could really hear the intake sucking air with the spacer, because of the way the air is circulating into the intake manifold...

Had it on my '96 accord and after it was totalled I took it out and put in my '99 Prelude. Not much gain, but the car run a lot smoother through out the entire power band.

I just installed one on my 98 accord v6 and now i am haveing problums with the automatic idle not turning off once the car is warmed up. It keeps sucking in air and will not cut off and go down to the normal rpm range. And in park the rpms rev up and down erraticly. :/

I think it would be a good match to a ported/smoothed out throttle body
