Default Cruise Control indicator light.

I own a 98 Honda Accord LX 4dsd with factory cruise control. Currently the small round green indicator light on the cruise control activation switch on the car's dashboard is not illuminating when depressed to the "on" position. The cruise control switch (left side of dash) operates correctly as does the illuminated ambered coloured words; "cruise control" in the instrument cluster. I tested the light for power and a complete circuit and testing checks out OK. Must one replace the entire switch in order to bring back functionality to the switch's light or can the switch's light be replaced separately from the switch itself?
