choosing solenoids and switches...use the old ones? buy new oem? aftermarker
Hey guys, first time posting here, thanks for all your help so far. Thanks to the members here, I've been marching my way towards rebuilding the transmission in my 1999 Honda AccordLX V6(No leather seats, lol). I'm down to my last 10 days here and would like some advice on solenoids and switches. Been reading around and most places recommend changing these electronic components out. Im not gonna lie and say it wasnt amatuer hour cuz i broke a couple of the swithces/solenoids on the delicate, plastic casing. I see solenoids and switches all over the place. Some super cheap, some OE's/OEM's and of course the genuine new/used. Nothing is guaranteed in electronics and aside from possible contamination, if the old switches/solenoids test out, why not use them or at least temporarily till i can afford a new dual shift, vapor canistor, etc. I learned that testing ohms can tell u if the solenoid/switch is still good. So, with all that in mind, what brand is reputable for switches? Because I have not seen or heard of any in all my research thus far. SINS, a seller on amazon is a oem manufacturer out of taiwan and has an office in el monte ca. If u go on, you'll see their stuff, i can also post links if it helps. Wellingtonparts is a distributor, but most aftermarket caps that are not genuine, look the part very well, but do they play the part. All the help and brain power in the next few days I can get would be extremely helpful and generous to get me on my way and back on the road. Thanks alot guys, you're the best!!!
