Cel blinking p1399 and low compression on cylinder 3
First of all I would like to thank anyone who takes the time to read this and offers input. I was going down the interstate the other day and my CEL started blinking. Before I jump ahead some back story. I bought my 2002 accord coupe used. My nephew convinced me that the honda life was easier on my wallet an nerves than my volvo. He was right. I got it with 223k on a 2.3 4 banger. Ive tried to keep up on the maintenance it was clear the previous owner(s) didnt. Oil changes on the regular, new cap rotor button and plugs etc. Back to the issue at hand. My CEL started blinking going down the interstate. No notice in performance just blinking. I checked it with my scanner read p1399. When I got off the exit and slowed down and the rpms dropped it started missing and shaking. This is very new to me. Cylinder 3 plug is less than 3 weeks old and black as well black. Checked the compression went from 60 to 0 then like 30 a few times. Soooo Im guessing burnt valve? I do not really understand when Im driving her out and open no noise or missfire but when rpms drop it happens?

Yea.... sadly its time but I cant complain the car has been a trooper and never let me down. I went to a junkyard and bought a low mileage head with cam now all im waiting on is my gasket kit and timing belt stuff to show up. Thanks for the feedback.

Valve adjustments on H and F family engines are a part of regular maintenance and if they weren't taken care of regularly, I can see a burnt valve developing.

Last time I had a burnt valve on a f22, was due to carbon buildup on the piston. The valve made contact and it ate a hole in the side of it. Either way, new head...head gasket...happy days.
