Default CB7 Transmission Issue

Hey guys, I'm new here and was wondering if I could ask you all some questions.

My girlfriend has a 91 CB7 and the transmission quit working after she got the car jumped. It acts like a bad TCU but doesn't have the "S" Light staying on or blinking. You can start the car, put it in gear and it will move but after about 30 seconds all gears (R, D4, D3, 2, 1) become as about as useful as neutral. I've noticed that every time I pull the negative cable off the battery and put it back on, it will move again for 30 seconds and then quit.

There's also a whining noise from under the hood when the car will engage into gear, but it stops after the car loses the ability to go into gear.

I really don't think it's a valve body issue since I can feel the torque converter grab and feel it shift into gear with no issue. I've had one person suggest that the filter is clogged though causing it.

Here's what I've done so far:

- Pulled the TCU and checked all wires and the board. Everything was fine, the board looks almost brand new.

- Pulled both shift solenoids and click tested them.

Here's what I'm about to do:

- Test the ohms on the shift solenoids from the solenoids themselves and the wiring harness

- Check the A/T fuse under the dash

Is there anything else you guys could think of that would cause this? I'm at wits end with it and I really don't want to have to drop the transmission to replace it.

Thanks!

Edit - I should mention that the car had the transmission rebuilt before we bought it about 20k miles ago. We bought it with 93k miles and now it has around 110k.

Double edit - I've also been using this CB7 A/T FAQ as a resource guide to help troubleshoot the issue, which is where my next two steps come into play:

That sounds like the common, filter clogged issue. Will work for a few moments, then will act like it is Neutral, along with a whine from the torque conveter area.

Best thing to do would be to locate the line pressure port, hook up a gauge and watch the trans pressure, as soon as the trans neutrals out albeit the pressure takes a dump.

If you have paperwork on the trans rebuild, locate it and bring it back to the place that did the work, and have them inspect it.

I would also drain the trans and inspect the fluid, if it is dark of full of debris either the transmission was not rebuilt or they did a horrible job of it.

Yeah that's what I'm really worried about. I'm going to mess with it on Friday since I don't have the car here, it's over at her house and all my tools are over here at mine. I'm going to check the fluid pressure too while I'm at it just to make sure it isn't a valve body issue.
