Default Car wont start first time when engine cold

Every morning I go in to start my car and the engine cranks but dosn't start, I start it again and it fires right up EVERY time. Sometimes I wont even let it fully attempt to crank the first time, I'll put it to start and after one turn I stop, crank it again and it starts right up. I had this problem during the fall, did an oil change, changed spark plugs, ran a fuel & oil treatment through the system and the problem went away, the spark plugs fixed a knocking I was having from the california gas as well, since it's 91, when I was in louisiana I was using 93 and it never knocked. (went from platinum to iridium plugs.) The problem with starting came back about a 3 weeks ago, but it dosn't knock still.
So basicly, is it the spark plugs, the cables, the dizzy, or the fuel pump going out?

I have a 95 JDM H22A with Hondata S300, AEM CAI, golden eagle IM, DC headers, 280CC stock injectors (from original H22A4 that blew up) Skunk2 cat back. I'm also running a PLX wideband into the Hondata.

I posted in this forum because the engine is prelude. (in a 2k accord)

oh ya, I searched, didn't find anyone with this exact problem.

This is a repost from the prelude forums, I've never gotten a quick/decent response from the people in that forum, and I prefer the responses I get in this forum anyway.

yeah, Accord forum people are top shelf sort of guys
I'd say in your situation, first try turning the key on and wait 20 seconds to be sure the fuel pump has brought up full pressure for a better injector spray.
Maybe pull the vacum line from the FPR and be sure the diaphram isn't ruptured and dumping raw gas into the vacum line.
Try the simple easy stuff first

hmm, I hadn't even thought about that, this whole time I figured either my plugs were fouled or my pump/filter was going out.

I'll take off the vacuum to the FPR tomorrow and see if that has any affect.

I've waited maybe 10-15 seconds for the fuel pump before, usually I can hear it spool up for about 2-3 seconds and then it dosn't pump anymore.

One of the things that sucks about troubleshooting this is you can only troubleshoot it once per few hours.... hmm, maybe I can unbolt the fuel banjo between starts and see if that has an affect.

ok, I started it without the FPR connected, I even inspected the line for fuel coming out and it had no effect on it starting.

So it still acted the same, and I gave the fuel pump about 20 seconds.

in your OP you talking about 'knocking' I'm guessing 'pinging' as in preignition?
Timing set okay? Just trying to run down all the basiscs first; I'm not a hotrod tuner so I don't diagnose the super ECU setups.

I lived in louisiana for like 5 years and they sold 93 octane everywhere, well the closer to the west coast I got the lower the octane of the gas was, my car starting making a light pinging noise half way through arizona whenever I pushed on the gas in a high gear. I eventually replaced the Bosche Platinum 4's with the Bosche Iridium/Platinum mix 4's. It hasn't made that ping ever since. Although at the same time I replaced the plugs the starting problem went away as well. About a month ago I went from California to Mississippi for a military training thing, I'll be here for like 6 months. Well pretty much as soon as I got to Mississippi my car started doing the starting problem again, but of course no ping.

Does that help?
