Default car died -is it a recall?

1998 accord 2.4 cyl vtec 4 door.

While driving the car above it just shut off. Well it restarted without a problem. I saw that accord of my year have a recall for the igntion switch getting to much heat generated causing the car to shut off.
Well my car was not included in the recall but I think it had to do with the recall I stated.
Any advice on persuading the dealer to check this for a recall and fix even though its not on the list?

Are you sure your ignition switch is defective? If so, why not just call the dealer and see.

Check your connection to your battery. Follow the batt cable from the pos to the starter and the fuse box and make sure that there is no breaks in the wire. Do the same with the ground side too.

lemme tell you somethin about honda, they are TERRIBLE about recalls and warranty work. good luck getting them to acknowledge anything about your car being wrong. i had a terrible time with them and my 02 V6 coupe, when it had 29k miles, but was 3 months out of warranty, and the IACV sensor went out, they were difficult and jerky to deal with, i mean a car with that low of milage giving that kinda problem, and sometimes on a hot day it would not start for like 10 min, just turn and turn over, so i said MOTHERFUCK that car, and sold it to my sister and took back her 95 accord which is perfect and i am drivin right now **** honda service, i do it my self

If your a regular customer there, they're more likely to cut you some slack. But that 's usually for cars that were covered by a product update or recall that they have too many miles for eligibility.

They were nice about our '98 Accord even though we inherited it from Florida & had never owned a Honda before. Absolutely no history of being a 'good customer'. (I owned an Integra but the Acura dealer was separate.)

Whatever you're saying applies to people at one dealer. Not all dealers. Maybe not even all the people at your dealer.

Since you're from Jax... Ours was bought new from Duval Honda by my wife's aunt. But we've never even been to that dealer.
