[Solved] Calipers fitting between models?
Hi guys
I have a 1994 Accord 2.0l S, with a chassis number SHHCC75500U115114.
I need to replace the front left break caliper, but the only one available to me is from a 1994 Accord 2.2 with a chassis number 1HGCD71400A000374. I dont know the exact type of an Accord this replacement part comes from, but I¨m wondering if this caliper will be an exact match to the old one.
Any ideas??

Re: Calipers fitting between models?
CC Accord, does your car look like this?
The caliper and caliper cage will most likely interchange with the CD Accord or earlier CB Accord, however you need to verify which brand of caliper you have.
Akebono will have a circular emblemb with what looks like triangles and 'V's.
Nissin will have 'NISSIN' on the caliper.
You will need to use the same caliper brand that is currently on your car, or purchase a pair of matching calipers to maintain ease of maintenance and pad replacement.

Re: Calipers fitting between models?
This is the car, pretty close match, with the exception of that fin at the tail.
I haven't had the opportunity to check the caliper that I'm targetting, since it's only available at a chop shop 500 miles away from my location. I've yet to check the one currently on the car, but knowing how worn it is, I rather don't expect to be able to read the markings on it.
I'll check it as soon as possible though.

OK, got an image of the caliper and the writing on it, 3 images in total.
I don't know if the pictures will help, but that's the best I can do. Seems the only thing I can make out is LUCAS and then the numbering 1840/05
Maybe one of you guys can better make it out.
I certainly hope you are better at reading through this than me

Re: Calipers fitting between models?
Aero deck Accords in Europe were made alongside the Rover 600. It's British. So you have Lucas made calipers.
Might try locating someone breaking a Rover 600 rather than the CD(US) Accord.
Any specific reason why you want to replace the caliper?
If the pins are sticking clean them and regrease. If the seals are sticking/leaking the front calipers are very easy to rebuild. Should be able to pickup a rebuild kit for a few €.

Re: Calipers fitting between models?
The main reason for me wanting to replace the items is that those damn things, especially the valve itself, is impossible to come by here in Norway. The importer of Honda only sells the whole bracket at extortionate prices, at least 5 times the value of just replacing the calipers second hand. I think I have the correct one on an after market contact, thanks for the clarification though. Much appreciated

Re: Calipers fitting between models?
Looking at the calipers again, based on the small window opening and square 'cut' of the caliper cage, these look like AKEBONO type calipers. NISSIN calipers have a wider window that reaches across the whole caliper face and an angled caliper cage.
