brake pedal goes to the floor all of a sudden
Hey all,
I have a '92 Accord that I had just finished replacing the rear brake pads on 2 weeks ago.
After replacing the pads, the brakes worked fine up until last Friday when all of a sudden the brake pedal requires to be pushed all the way to the floor for the car to stop.
It feels like there is air in the line; I have bled the brakes numerous times but still cannot get a firm pedal. Also, there is no fluid loss in the master cylinder. The car is ABS equipped.
Any ideas on what it could be? TIA!

The piston inside the brake master cylinder can 'bypass' without showing signs of leaking. I'd do a creep down test [hold steady pressure and see if the pedal moves or the brakes release]and if the brake pedal creeps down replace the master cylinder.

It was the brake booster in my car.. Which, BTW, isnt fun to replace. Did mine last weekend actually. So much fun..... But it fixed the pedal slowly going to the floor!

thanks guys for the responses, it was indeed the master cylinder. Replaced it and the brakes work like a champ!
